I’ve been in the fitness industry for over 20 years, always passionate about health, wellness, and staying ahead of the curve when it came to the latest trends. I tried all the diets—fasting, restricting, cleansing—you name it. And while I could get results, they never lasted. I’d find myself stuck in the cycle of “starting over,” whether it was on a Monday or the first of the month. Then in 2020, I noticed my body starting to change. I blamed my hormones. I figured it was my metabolism. I was 43, so what else could it be?
By August of 2023, I was 25 pounds heavier and finally ready to get honest about my habits. I knew if I was going to make a lasting change, it had to be simple and sustainable. I started with just two things: prioritizing protein and tracking my workouts. That was the beginning of my true transformation. Through my own journey—and by implementing what I was learning—I developed the 7 Pillars for Effective Weight Management, a framework that helped me lose 20 pounds (and keep it off), feel stronger than ever, and rebuild my relationship with food after decades of dieting.
As I deepened my studies in menopause and perimenopause, I realized that the very tools I was using to support sustainable weight loss were the same strategies that help manage hormones and thrive in midlife.
